Your Place or Mine - Grades
K-5
Why doesn't a tree frog live in the desert? Students will
explore this question and more as they learn about the basic
elements all animals need in their habitats for survival.
They will meet live animals who make their homes in a variety
of habitats, such as deserts, forests and wetlands. Along
their journey, they will discover why it is important for
humans to take care of habitats.
Let's Go Froggin' - Grades 3-8
Frogs come in all different sizes, shapes and colors. Each
is specially adapted to its environment. Students will meet
a variety of frogs from around the world, and learn about
some of their unique adaptations and survival techniques.
We will also examine the relationships between humans and
these remarkable creatures.
But I Want It! - Grades 9-12
Have you ever wished for an exotic fur coat or a pair of
alligator boots? What about a tortoise shell barrette or
an ivory bracelet? Ever wanted an exotic cat or a rare reptile
for a pet? All of these are products made from animals that
are becoming endangered due to illegal trade and capture.
Through slides, video and actual confiscated items, students
are introduced to the problems faced by "valuable"
wildlife.
