with fishy fun and family savings Sept. 11
CHATTANOOGA,
Tenn. (August 15, 2006) – The Tennessee
Aquarium and other Chattanooga attractions are celebrating
Home
School Day on Monday, Sept. 11, by providing discounts
and special programs. Home school students and their
families will get the chance to explore exciting tales of the
deep and learn about the fuzzy, finny, scaly and sometimes
slimy creatures at the Aquarium.
Home
school students and their families will receive the education
discount rate on Aquarium, IMAX and combo tickets. Other
Chattanooga attractions celebrating are the Chattanooga Regional
History Museum, Chattanooga Nature Center, Rock City, Ruby
Falls and the Creative Discovery Museum.
“We have a lot of fun helping home school families explore
new learning experiences, but we also take pride in introducing
great home school resources to home schooled children and their
families,” said educator Bray McDonald.
While
touring the Aquarium families can enjoy scavenger hunts,
live animal encounters and interactive programs. There also
will be learning craft exhibits at the Environment Learning
Lab from 2:30 – 4 p.m. The Chattanooga Nature
Center and the Chattanooga Zoo will present exciting educational
programs in the Aquarium’s auditorium.
Students
and parents also have the chance to take home some Aquarium
gear at the gift shop where they will receive a 10 percent
discount. Members with home schooled children
will receive a 20 percent discount. And for the really adventurous
family, take a behind-the-scenes tour of the Aquarium.
