Introduces New Film: Wings of Courage

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Oct. 6, 1998) ---Imagine yourself in an open cockpit bi-plane careening over the Andes. Instead of pilot's goggles, visitors to the Tennessee Aquarium IMAX® Theater will only need a pair of 3D glasses to brave the high-flying action on board the 1930s biplanes featured in Wings of Courage.

The film, which opens Oct. 10, is an inspiring true story of three legendary and pioneering French aviators who made the first historic and extremely dangerous airmail flights across the treacherous mountain ranges of the Andes.

Directed by Academy-Award-winning filmmaker, Jean-Jacques Annaud, Wings of Courage is the first dramatic film in IMAX 3D. Stars include:
Val Kilmer -- Jean Mermoz
Elizabeth McGovern -- Noelle Guillaumet
Craig Sheffer -- Henri Guillaumet
Tom Hulce -- Antoine de St. Exupery

The French company Aeropostale was one of the first to fly the mail from continent to continent. During the 1920s and 30s, French mail planes regularly traversed some of the world's most forbidding terrain, losing, in the process, as many as one pilot a month. Because of the risks involved, the company turned to talented and idealistic young pilots whose dedication to duty knew no boundaries. These pilots are remembered as some of the most heroic adventurers of all time.

The saying goes: "The Andes don't give men back." Now, the magic of 3D IMAX gives viewers the opportunity to "fly" with these air-daredevils and feel the adventure as they cross the treacherous Andes Cordillera range, where the mountains peak at 21,000 feet. Wings of Courage includes breathtaking scenes, but it is also a story of a passionate love between Henri Guillaumet and his beautiful and devoted wife, Noelle.

Wings of Courage premiers Oct. 10 and compliments the other 3D presentation Into the Deep and 2D presentation EVEREST.
