Green Treefrog
Hyla cinerea ON EXHIBIT: Discovery Hall at River Journey

FUN FACTS
Green tree frogs can have some gray to yellow coloring but are mostly bright green with a yellowish stripe extending down their side. During the breeding season (March to October), males call to attract females for mating. The call sounds like a nasal "queenk-queenk-queenk." Hundreds to thousands of males may call at once during these congregations.
CONSERVATION
Populations are stable. All amphibians are at risk due to factors such as habitat destruction, pollution and diseases such as ranavirus and chytrid fungus.
