Boat Schedule

Get out and experience Chattanooga’s natural beauty aboard the River Gorge Explorer. This 70-passenger, hydrofoil-assisted, vessel transports passengers smoothly along the waters of the Tennessee River. Each excursion is led by an Aquarium naturalist who points out wildlife and historic points of interest along the way.

The River Gorge Cruise heads past the foot of Lookout Mountain and into the heart of “Tennessee’s Grand Canyon.” There's time to enjoy the scenic views from the topside observation deck while searching for wildlife. The last cruise of the day is a sunset cruise.

All children under 3 riding the River Gorge Explorer will be charged $18. They are counted as a passenger via Coast Guard regulations.

Learn how Dr. Bernie Kuhajda, Aquatic Conservation Biologist, surveys and monitors endangered species in the Southeast. Enjoy bird watching with the Aquarium's Assistant Curator of Forests, Kevin Calhoon. Take your visit to the Tennessee Aquarium to the outdoors and experience local scenic beauty and wildlife in a whole new way. Be sure to bring a camera, notebook, and plenty of questions. Cash bar with wine, beer, soft drinks, and snacks available during the cruise.
