Get out and experience Chattanooga’s natural beauty aboard the River Gorge Explorer. This 70-passenger, hydrofoil-assisted, vessel transports passengers smoothly along the waters of the Tennessee River. Each excursion is led by an Aquarium naturalist who points out wildlife and historic points of interest along the way.
The River Gorge Cruise heads past the foot of Lookout Mountain and into the heart of “Tennessee’s Grand Canyon.” There's time to enjoy the scenic views from the topside observation deck while searching for wildlife. The last cruise of the day is a sunset cruise.
Adult $29 / Child $21.50 (3 -12) / Toddler $18
All children under 3 riding the River Gorge Explorer will be charged $18. They are counted as a passenger via Coast Guard regulations.

Saturday, December 28 2:00 - 4:00 PM
Winter is prime time to watch for the arrival of wintering Bald Eagles in the Chattanooga area. With the leaves down and the eagle population up, viewing is even better on the river from the vantage of the River Gorge Explorer's observation desk. Bring your binoculars and dress appropriately for an eye-full of our national mascot. Along the way, we'll discuss the tumultuous history of this spectacular bird of prey from endangered days and back to its current protected status.
