Asked Questions about Facility Rental
- Events
take place from 7:00 – 10:30 PM.
- The Aquarium
closes to the public at 6:00 PM. Setup of tables/chairs, catering
equipment, decorations, etc. takes place after that time.
- Caterers
provide tables & chairs for event guests as well as food.
Servicing buffet lines and setup & breakdown of catering
equipment is also the responsibility of the caterer.
- Only Tennessee
Aquarium approved caterers may be used in the Aquarium or IMAX
Center. Wedding cakes can be brought in only by approved caterers.
- The Tennessee
Aquarium provides all bar service for events. Event hosts may
not bring in alcoholic beverages or soft drinks of any kind
from outside sources. Additionally, please be aware that setup
and breakdown time for bars will be accounted for in the bartender
hours billed to the host. Premium liquor is available upon request.
- Upon contracting
an event, clients agree to pay ½ base rental within 2
weeks of contract. The remainder, plus any additional charges,
will be invoiced after the event.
- River
Journey can accommodate Bands, DJs and/or piped in custom music.
- Guests
can carry food throughout River and Ocean Journey. Food and
drinks can be staged in the lobby, Seahorse Gallery and Rivers
of the World Gallery in River Journey and on Levels 2 and 4
inside Ocean Journey.
- Please
inquire about decoration options. Votive candles with a globe
or glass hurricane are approved while balloons are not allowed
in the Aquarium or IMAX.
- The Aquarium
and IMAX provides all audio visual equipment for an additional
charge, unless otherwise specified.
- The Aquarium
does provide wheelchairs and backpacks for infants.
- At this
time, we do not have guides or behind-the-scenes tours available
for night events.
- Parking
is not included.
- The IMAX
Theater is available for events and private movie viewing during
non-operational hours. Private screenings during operational
hours may be available based on availability with an additional
charge. Please call for inquiries on dates and times.
