Welcome
aboard the Tennessee Aquarium River Gorge Explorer! This
70 passenger high-speed catamaran is the first
of its kind in the Southeast. Aquarium visitors
can extend their “mountains to the sea” learning
adventure by cruising into the Tennessee River
Gorge aboard this sleek vessel. An Aquarium naturalist
will lead you into this protected habitat, pointing
out wildlife and historic points of interest along
the way.

Cat Ferry and Chattanooga Water Taxi
Catch
the Ferry
or Water Taxi afternoons - sunset,
on the Pier at Ross’s Landing, a block from the
Aquarium. Disembark at Coolidge Park for the
carousel, local restaurants and shops, or continue
your scenic tour up river and around Maclellan Island.
Your pass is good all day. The Water Taxi is
running Saturday's only from 12 noon to sunset. |

Stop by Tadpoles at
the City Pier for refreshments or a riverfront picnic
lunch. Enjoy deck seating on the river.
Continue
your tour on the Fat Cat Ferry up river and around
Maclellan Island. This
18-acre bird sanctuary features Great blue Herons,
Osprey and migrating Warblers. Explore the island
by walking it's nature trail. A donation of $1 per
person will be requested to support the Chattanooga
Audubon Society's local efforts should you choose this
adventure. |

from the island, view the majestic bluffs that
support the renowned Hunter
Museum of American Art, and The Passage
that marks the Trail of Tears celebrating Chattanooga’s
Native American Culture. You’ll be inspired
to take a closer look once you return to Ross’s
Landing.
The
art museum, located in the beautiful Bluff View
Art District, is just a two-block walk from the
Aquarium through an outdoor sculpture garden and
over a glass bridge. |
