Insider tips to help you get the most out of your visit.

BUY YOUR TICKETS IN ADVANCE:
Purchasing tickets in advance enables you to choose the entry time you desire. Order your tickets online anytime to the Aquarium and IMAX movie of your choice and have them mailed to you.
If you're visiting in four days or fewer, you may pick up your tickets at the Aquarium's ticketing center. The tickets will be waiting for you at the "will call" counter (the first booth at the Aquarium's ticketing center). Or call 800-262-0695, 8:30 am - 4:45 pm ET, Monday through Friday, to reserve your tickets over the phone.

IF BUYING TICKETS ON THE DAY OF YOUR VISIT:
On especially busy days, your ticket may not permit immediate entry. Fortunately, you'll find plenty to enjoy in the surrounding riverfront park.

GET EXPRESS ENTRY AND UNLIMITED AQUARIUM VISITS:
Become an Aquarium member today for express entry and unlimited visits. Members enjoy quick entry to the Aquarium through the express Member's Entrance. Membership also entitles you to IMAX discounts, special events and a free subscription to Riverwatch, the Aquarium's quarterly magazine. Join online and enjoy the benefits of being a Tennessee Aquarium member.

VISIT DURING OFF-PEAK HOURS:
The Aquarium is open every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with extended summer hours. To avoid crowds, and see early-morning animal behaviors, we recommend that you start your tour early in the day.

Your Tennessee Aquarium experience, which will take at least two hours, and includes admission to two buildings: River Journey and Ocean Journey. Your tickets are good all day, so feel free to catch a bite or sneak a peek at an IMAX 3D film between buildings. When scheduling your visit or IMAX film time, remember Chattanooga is in the Eastern Time Zone
. All exhibit galleries are fully accessible, and wheelchairs are available free of charge. Strollers are permitted on most days, and back packs are free for toddlers.

BEHIND THE SCENES TOURS:
Daily, 3 - 4:15 p.m. Go behind the scenes to see the inner workings of the Tennessee Aquarium. Explore the fascinating pump room, the control room that operates the Aquarium's life support system, food prep and back-up areas. To reserve a space, call 423-265-0698 to make a reservation Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:45 PM.

CUSTOMIZE YOUR CHATTANOOGA VISIT:
Check out the Getaway Planner and use one of our itineraries to customize your Chattanooga visit. Whether you're herding kids, corralling teens, or retreating from real life, you're probably just aching for a getaway! A vacation at the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga is fun for everyone!

CONSIDER STAYING AT AN OFFICIAL AQUARIUM HOTEL:
If you're going to stay overnight, save money on exclusive package deals with one of our sponsor hotels. All participating hotels are convenient to the Aquarium and other Chattanooga attractions.

WHO'S HUNGRY?:
While Big River Grille on Broad Street is the hands-down favorite of Aquarium staffers, you can find a list of restaurants within walking distance.

FREE SHUTTLE BUS:
You can board the CARTA electric bus (in the Bijou Garage) and travel downtown for free. For a list of stops and destinations, click here.

FISHY PHOTOS:
The Aquarium is a great place for pictures, but be careful of the reflections off the glass. For capturing those memories, move in close to your subject and keep your flash at a 45-degree angle to the glass. Kodak 400 ASA speed film is recommended and available in our gift shop.

GROUP DISCOUNTS:
If you're traveling with a group of 10 or more, book your visit through our Group Sales Department and receive a discounted price. And we now offer family packages too!
