Close Encounters of the Animal Kind
Make Contact with Cool Critters Every Day
Some
creatures hide in the shadows, lead cryptic lives underground or lurk
around long after sunset. Living a subterranean or nocturnal lifestyle
means people don’t often happen upon these interesting critters.
The Tennessee Aquarium’s new animal encounter specialists are
ready to introduce visitors to many intriguing species. Every day, for
parts of every hour, these educators will bring out a different animal
in both Aquarium buildings for you to meet up close. It could be a soft
and cuddly encounter with “Jelly”, a Virginia opossum or it
might be a squirmy encounter with a Chinese paddle-tailed newt or
touchable terrapins. Meet more of the Aquarium’s charismatic
creatures face-to-face during a “Close Encounter of the Animal Kind.”
- SHARE YOUR CLOSE ENCOUNTERS WITH THE TENNESSEE AQUARIUM
If you have a special animal encounter picture, we’d love to see
it and share it with other animal lovers. It could be that beautiful
image of the birds in your backyard. Maybe it’s the deer you
photographed standing in a meadow. Or it could be that adorable picture
you took of our penguins or otters on your last visit to the Tennessee
Aquarium. Upload your photos today to our Flickr group and maybe you'll see your photo on our website.
