Teens are important to the Tennessee Aquarium and the future of our planet! We offer several programs to help inspire wonder, appreciation and protection of water and all life that it sustains.
Please click on the opportunities below for more details!
High School Hellbenders - Join us this summer for a three-day, two-night outdoor overnight experience in the Nantahala Gorge. We will sleep two nights in a cabin and spend our time climbing, paddling, rafting, and taking advantage of the outdoor “classroom”. All meals provided; email Katherine Abell for more information. Job Shadowing - Spend three hours getting a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the daily responsibilities of our animal care staff!
Teen Volunteer Program - Come be a part of an exciting program that allows teens to engage visitors through hands-on education, further your specific interests in conservation or research through projects in the field, and spend time getting to know other teens who enjoy similar interests! Whether you are preparing for a career in biology, want to help protect nature, or just enjoy teaching people about the incredible world around us, contact us today to find out if this program is the right fit for you! Please contact Katherine Abell at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
Summer Camp Volunteers - Assist Camp Leaders with crafts, snacks and field trips for younger children during the Education Department's Summer Camp!
Outreach - We can bring the Tennessee Aquarium to your school! Whether it is for a Career Fair, Volunteer Fair or a classroom presentation, we are eager to work with you and your teachers to set up a visit! Please contact Carrie Shaw, at email@example.com or (423)785-4050 for more information!
