Teen Opportunities

Teens are important to the Tennessee Aquarium and the future of our planet! We offer several programs to help inspire wonder, appreciation and protection of water and all life that it sustains.

Please click on the opportunities below for more details!

High School Hellbenders - Join us this summer for a three-day, two-night outdoor overnight experience in the Nantahala Gorge. We will sleep two nights in a cabin and spend our time climbing, paddling, rafting, and taking advantage of the outdoor “classroom”. All meals provided; email Katherine Abell for more information.  Register Here

Job Shadowing - Spend three hours getting a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the daily responsibilities of our animal care staff!

Teen Volunteer Program - Engage guests at the Aquarium with fun facts about the exhibits, let them touch a shark tooth and more!

Summer Camp Volunteers - Assist Camp Leaders with crafts, snacks and field trips for younger children during the Education Department's Summer Camp!

Outreach - We can bring the Tennessee Aquarium to your school!  Whether it is for a Career Fair, Volunteer Fair or a classroom presentation, we are eager to work with you and your teachers to set up a visit!  Please contact Carrie Shaw, at chs@tnaqua.org or (423)785-4050 for more information!
