Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs at IMAX

Help the Chattanooga Area Food Bank at the Tennessee Aquarium IMAX 3D Theater

Canned Goods Discount for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

Chattanooga, Tenn. (December 7, 2009) – The Tennessee Aquarium IMAX 3D Theater has a tasty offer for movie fans that may help fill the shelves at the Chattanooga Area Food Bank. Guests will receive a $3.00 discount on tickets to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs with a donation of canned food items between December 11th and December 24th.

The brilliantly animated film begins in the desperate island community of Swallow Falls, a town starving for a way to break the monotony of a menu that only includes sardines. Things suddenly change when aspiring inventor Flint Lockwood launches his latest device skyward. In mere moments, his life and the lives of everyone in Swallow Falls are changed forever when cheeseburgers begin raining down on the community. From that point, IMAX audiences feast their eyes on a three-dimensional flood of food that fills the giant six-story screen as Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs weaves a fun-filled tale of how too much of a good thing can spell trouble.

In the film, Lockwood simply wanted to make a difference in people's lives through his inventions. Now officials at the Food Bank are hoping the on-screen buffet inspires Chattanooga area residents to "make it rain" a little food at the IMAX 3D Theater. "We could not function without community support through the many food drives, large and small, conducted through the year," said Clare Sawyer, president and CEO of the Chattanooga Area Food Bank. "Partnering with the IMAX 3D Theater in conjunction with Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is fun and makes sense since we are always in need of canned pasta."

Flint Lockwood's machine might have produced a virtual flood of food at Swallow Falls in Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, but residents of the Scenic City are the real heroes. Thanks to generous donors, last year the Chattanooga Area Food Bank distributed 8.6 million pounds of food to needy families throughout twenty counties in Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee.

By bringing one or more canned food items to the Tennessee Aquarium ticketing center or IMAX 3D Theater box office, residents will help brighten the lives of others while enjoying a discount to the movie E! Entertainment's N.V. Cooper says, "Sets another high watermark for recent animated films."

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs Discount Offer:

$3.00 off each ticket to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs when at least one canned food item is donated at the Tennessee Aquarium IMAX 3D Theater or Tennessee Aquarium ticketing center. Offer valid Friday, December 11th through Thursday, December 24th. Discount offer is not valid for Under the Sea 3D or Polar Express 3D. Canned goods will go to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.
